Client Challenge
Souq approached Spider India recently only. They had recently realisation how strongly e-commerce solutions will help them to expand their business. All of their opponents had already adopted such measures to interact with more customers whereas Souq was not able to target as many as they did. In addition to that, they could not grow their business as they hoped. To gain a competitive edge over their opponents it became crucial to adopt such business models and that is where our role came into play.
Our Solution
Website
Selection your location
We added an option to ‘Select Your City’ in the beginning only which is displayed in the main section on the homepage. With the help of this feature, their delivery zone is identified automatically.
Sign in/ Register
In the website, we used distinct terms like ‘New User’, ‘Register’ or ‘Sign Up’ to try and make the registration easier as well as convenient for the users to identify their category.
Search
A search feature added that helps the users to search for products from different categories. It provides:
- Instant results in the dropdown menu
- Searched products in various categories given as an option
- Option to search for a product in a particular category
Filter
Filter option is today considered the key to making a good website. Since no one wants to waste their time looking at the products they do not need. On the other hand, by just searching the product saves a lot of time and brings ease. The filter options were based on:
- Brand Name
- Weight
- Price
Add to Cart
This option lets the user add products into the shopping cart and then proceed with payment. This feature is known to be the backbone of any e-commerce site. We also made the added products appear at the bottom of the page.
My Account Features:- Profile: It helps the user to change their name, address or other info.
- Orders: List of order history.
- Wishlist: List of all the items saved by the user.
- Cards: Information about debit or credit cards are saved.
- Password: This option lets users change their password.
Email/ SMS alerts
From the minute you place the order till the time customer receives it, Email or SMS alerts are sent by Souq itself to keep the user notified about the process every step of the way.
Order Tracking
As much as this feature is used in every single application, its importance never seems to diminish. With real-time order tracking, the user could watch and monitor where their order is and how much time it would take to get it delivered.
Schedule your deliveries
One aspect that makes customers happy is on-time delivery. To cater to that, we added a feature so that customers can order products according to their delivery schedule.
Mobile Application
With a website, we created a mobile application to save overall development time, cost, and energy. We were well aware of the fact that these days people just open an app and keep shopping on their fingertips from anywhere and set their pickup time based on their convenience.
As per a recent survey of the Internet now more than 60% of shopping happening online. To cater to such needs and provide an interactive experience, a mobile app was the way to go.
All of the features available on the website were provided in the mobile application also.
