Client Challenge
We were part of a project called Green Ways. The State Government of Tamil Nadu approached us to create an IT Solution as they were facing many obstacles and having hard time in keeping accurate records on paper. As they need a large amount of man-force to prepare paper records as well, they wanted us to develop an application to keep records of their day-to-day work instead of paper records.
Our Solution
Green Ways built a partnership with us and we together created a mobile application that embraced smooth functioning of the activities that took place on a daily basis.
- We created an application that was beneficial for both the ends to fulfill their tasks, for instance, staffs do the field work by recording the data and higher officials register the recorded data.
- In the application, they could directly upload any kind of information about trees and that information will be directed to the concerned authorities.
- The application maintains an accurate record of all the planted trees along the highways.
- They were able to appoint and assign people in particular field to survey the trees through the application.
Results
There are a number of factors that influenced the quality of trees along roadside in Chennai, such as adjacent land use, topography, overhead utilities, signage, and existing vegetation. The Green Way application played a big role in
- Documenting records of trees
- Monitoring and tracking management activities
- Allocating appropriate funds, resources, and management activities
- Providing information for tax purposes
